Tags

The Tags API allows partner applications to retrieve and search tags from COUNT.Tags are used to categorize and organize records such as invoices, transactions, and reports.

Tags are commonly used for:

• Payment method classification (Cash, Check, Credit Card)
• Location or tax jurisdiction tracking
• Internal reporting and grouping

Tags are managed in the COUNT UI and referenced by partner integrations.

Authentication

All tag endpoints require:

• HMAC Authentication (x-client-id, x-signature)
• OAuth Bearer Token

Tag Characteristics

• Tags are read-only via the partner API
• Tags are identified by UUID
• Tags may optionally belong to one or more tag groups
• Tag names are user-configurable in COUNT

Common Tag Types

Typical tag use cases include:

• Payment Method Tags
  • Cash
  • Check
  • Credit Card
  • Invoice
• Location / Tax Tags
  • Jurisdiction or location-based identifiers
  • Often prefixed with a location code

Tag Usage in Invoices

Tags are most commonly used when creating invoices to:

• Indicate payment method
• Assign tax location
• Support reporting and reconciliation

Invoices may include multiple tags.

Tag Search Behavior

• Tag search is case-insensitive
• Matching is based on name prefixes
• Designed to support flexible lookup without exact matches
